rethrow.io Marketplace
Patrick Mago
The Rethrow stand presents vintage computers as a living cultural heritage that needs to be preserved, documented, repaired and passed on. A selection of computers, peripherals, accessories, software, documentation and components from the 1980s and 1990s illustrates the full diversity of this ecosystem – from complete devices right down to their smallest individual parts.
At the stand, visitors can also discover Rethrow, a new international marketplace entirely dedicated to retrocomputing. Its clearly organised catalogue helps collectors and enthusiasts to identify their devices precisely, find compatible parts, and buy or sell machines and spare parts within a specialised community.
Rethrow means both ‘retro’ in French and ‘re-throw’ (to put back into circulation) in English. This dual meaning sums up the project’s objective: to give a new lease of life to devices that deserve neither the rubbish tip nor oblivion, so that they remain in circulation, continue to function and tell the story of computing.
PLEASE NOTE: No sales take place at the VCF.
