Media Monster PC: Retrieving data from old media
Nikolai Knopp-Stockfisch (Die Diskette Schaffhausen)
Over the past few decades, more and more data has been stored. In the process, many formats and media have been developed to keep pace with humanity’s increasing storage needs. Nowadays, flash storage and broadband internet connections have made it easier to store and transfer data.
But what about media found whilst having a clear-out, or that you’ve never been able to access again because you no longer had the drive or it was faulty? That’s what the Media Monster PC was built for. It allows you to retrieve data from many types of media that are no longer in use today.
If you still have any such media, bring them along with an empty USB stick and head over to the Media Monster PC! Whether it’s ZIP, JAZ, REV Drive, 1.44MB floppy discs, CDs or external drives with FireWire, eSATA or SCSI – the Monster can handle them. We’ll then bring them into the present day with you and copy their contents onto your USB stick.
The Media Monster PC runs on Windows 7 64-bit and features an Intel Q6600 CPU with 8GB of RAM and an EVGA GeForce GTX 590. If you’d like to benchmark this dual-GPU setup, you’re welcome to do so as well.
