CERN Micro Club - Retro-Computing

Michael Jaussi, Maksymilian Graczyk, Maciej Suminski

We are the retro computing section of the Micro Club (founded in 1985) at CERN, the place where the Web was born.
We’ll be bringing along various vintage computers (Mac, PC, Amiga/Commodore) that we’ve restored ourselves, so that visitors can (re)discover how computers worked in the 1980s and 1990s, and browse the early World Wide Web!

The devices on display bring the evolution of personal computers to life. From the classic Macintosh and DOS PCs to Amiga and Commodore systems, visitors can explore different platforms and their unique features. A particular highlight is the journey into the early days of the World Wide Web, which began at CERN and fundamentally changed the way we share information.
