Retro game development with modern tools (PSP Homebrew)

PSP gives a perfect middleground for people who want to feel the retro vibe developing for outdated and not-so-powerful consoles but still want to develop like it is 2025.

We will speak about developing a PSP game for the Ludum Dare contest (https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/58/human-collector-1). We will show how one can start developing for PSP and do this in a cross-platform fashion.

We will briefly describe what the PSP Homebrew community has achieved over the years, why we picked SDL, what are the challenges developing with SDL.

And in the end we will show how to run a PSP game in the browser.
