The Smaky family is a family of computers developed and manufactured in French-speaking Switzerland. They were mainly used in schools. Come and discover several iconic models:
- The Dauphin is a small computer delivered in kit form, which you had to build yourself. This appealing machine was a great success in French-speaking Switzerland, enabling many enthusiasts to learn about this new discipline. It was programmed in machine language.
- The Scrib was probably the first portable computer with a built-in screen and battery. Its mirror system, which allowed the screen to be hidden inside the case, was unique for this type of machine.
- The Smaky 6 is an 8-bit computer based on a Z80P processor, which runs on a proprietary operating system called SAMOS.
- The Smaky 324, with its Motorola 68020 and vertical screen, was designed for demanding office tasks.
- The Smaky 130 is the latest model in the 16-bit range. It is equipped with a 68030 processor and has a graphics card capable of displaying thousands of colours. Its operating system, also proprietary, is multitasking and can even run Macintosh emulation in parallel on two screens.
