RetroGaming

Peter Zumstein

Retrogaming refers to playing and collecting older computer and video games. In the early 1970s to the early 1980s, these were almost exclusively consoles manufactured by companies such as Atari, Magnavox, Coleco and Mattel. There was an oversupply of consoles. When a flood of poorly developed games hit the market in 1980 and the first home computers appeared at the same time, the big ‘video game crash’ occurred in 1983, which various console manufacturers did not survive.

On display here are the C64, SX64, Philips Odyssey 2001, Philips Videopac + G7400, Arcade Machine, and Virtual i/O iGlasses.
