The "Big Iron" of yesteryear

What do you mean, “minicomputer”? Those things are huge!

Toby and Jake from the UK will show you how computing was done back in the early days. The HP 250 from Toby’s collection is a powerful multi-user system running BASIC and supports up to 10 users. It is very unique because of its form factor: The 250 Is built into a desk, providing a built in terminal and keyboard from the get-go.

The Research Machines 380Z from Jake’s collection was an early 8-bit microcomputer produced by Research Machines Limited in Oxford, England, from 1977 to 1985. It was primarily used in educational institutions and featured a Z80A microprocessor, up to 56 KB of user RAM, and optional floppy disk storage. This particular example is an early blue cased variant instead of the more recognisable black of later machines.
